ترجمة مختصرة للصحابي الجليل أبي مسعود البدري رضي الله عنه

اسمه ونسبه:
أبو مسعود البدري واسمه: عقبة بن عمرو بن ثعلبة بن أسيرة بن عسيرة الأنصاري، نزل ماء ببدر، فشهر بذلك.

وكان ممن شهد بيعة العقبة، وكان شابا من أقران جابر بن عبدالله في السن.
روى أحاديث كثيرة، وهو معدود في علماء الصحابة، نزل الكوفة.

حدث عنه: ولده؛ بشير، وأوس بن ضمعج، وعلقمة، وأبو وائل، وقيس بن أبي حازم، ربعي بن حراش، وعبد الرحمن بن يزيد، وعمرو بن ميمون، والشعبي، وعدة.

قال الواقدي: شهد العقبة، ولم يشهد بدرا.

قال الحافظ في "تهذيب التهذيب" (7 / 248):"وقع في " صحيح البخاري " من حديث عروة بن الزبير ، قال : أخر المغيرة بن شعبة العصر فدخل عليه أبو مسعود عقبة بن عمرو جد زيد بن حسن ، و كان قد شهد بدرا ، فقال : يا مغيرة . فذكر الحديث .

سمعه عروة من بشير بن أبى مسعود ، عن أبيه ، و بذلك عده البخاري في البدريين.

و قال مسلم بن الحجاج في " الكنى " : شهد بدرا .

و قال أبو أحمد الحاكم : يقال : إنه شهد بدرا .

وفاته:
قال يحيى القطان: مات أبو مسعود أيام قتل علي بالكوفة.
وقال الواقدي: مات بالمدينة، في خلافة معاوية
و قال الهيثم بن عدي، و المدائني: مات سنة أربعين.
و قيل : مات سنة إحدى أو اثنتين و أربعين .
